A bride shares her favorite part of planning her wedding!

Ben Diller won’t ever have to worry about forgetting the anniversary date of his wedding to Kimberly Wenger as they were married on December 13, 2014 at 3 p.m. making the numerical date 12/13/14 @ 15:00!!  The day was delightful in every way including the weather which cooperated with temperatures in the upper 40’s, nice and calm with the sun peeking through now and then.

Kristi Lee Photography captured some truly awesome photos which were taken on the grounds of the Vrooman Mansion in Bloomington, IL.  Not only did she do a wonderful job with the photographs, she also had them ready within two weeks after their wedding which we found amazing.

Kimberly’s favorite part of making wedding plans was buying gifts for her bridesmaids.  She chose pendant necklaces and earrings putting special thought into each gift.  For her maid-of-honor and sister, Nicole, she picked out a sister heart;  for Karissa who is in the ISU gama phi circus she found a “three hearts stacked”;  for Olivia who is a member of the sorority alpha chi omega, a jewel sorority pearl and for her niece Briley who loves animals and dogs in particular, a paw print and dog bone charm.

Ben and Kimberly have known each other since grade school and became better acquainted when Kimberly took gymnastics classes with Ben’s sisters.  After high school graduation, they started dating going 4-wheeling and making cookies together on their first date.  They had a lot of fun together and Kimberly’s brother said the cookies were the best he had ever eaten!

They became engaged on April 26, 2014 in between finals week while they were hiking at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana.  She will always remember that they were on trail #8 on a bridge when he turned around and popped the question.

Kimberly chose her wedding colors and theme to fit the time of year (Christmas) wanting a cozy, rustic yet elegant look.  Her least favorite part of wedding planning was figuring out what she wanted for decorations.  We used fresh seasonal evergreens, with deep red roses & hypericum to contrast with the sandy mauve colored Quicksand roses designed in a curly willow armature to add a rustic touch.  Grandmother’s locket hung around her bouquet.  Her aunts designed her reception table decor with cozy lanterns and seasonal greens.

They were married on the IWU campus Evelyn Chapel and the reception was held in the Young Main Lounge featuring the IWU String Quartet.
